Our candles are made using a natural blended wax so will have all the benefits that a natural wax will bring – they will burn slower, cleaner and a lot more evenly. But thats not the only thing thats important about our candles. In this section, we have tried to give you further information on some of the important components of our candles so you can make an educated choice when it comes to purchasing your candle from The Wooden Wick Candle Company.
All our candles are made using a wooden wick - it's kind of our thing! All our wicks are made from cherry wood and sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified mills in USA. After much testing, we configured a wick and a half to ensure the maximum crackle sound whilst also creating a solid burn that will melt the wax right to the edge of the glass, making sure you get the maximum burn time possible.
Handmade in the UK
So many people use the word handmade even though there are many components of the making process that are automated. When we say handmade, we really mean it! Every part of our candle making process is done by a small team of professional chandlers from our modest workshop/shop in Halfpenny Green, Staffordshire. From mixing the dye and fragrance in small batches of 5, to pouring by eye, we take meticulous care in each and every candle. So when we say handmade, you can rest assured that each candle has the care and attention required to assure quality.
Although its not a guarantee of quality, the burn time has become the industry standard measurement when talking about candles. After all, you want to know how long its going to last! We are proud to say that all our 30cl candles will last between 40-45 hours each. We know from our constant market reviews that this is one of the longest burn times out there for a candle of this size. So for each candle you purchase from us, you can ensure that you are getting value for your money with a candle that will last longer than average. We have also included some further information on how to get the most out of your candle in our guidelines section below.
We know that not everyone who buys from us is buying for themselves... although we are big advocates of the words "treat yourself"! We wanted to make sure that the art of gift giving was made extra special so it was important to us right from the start to make sure that each of our candles came in a presentation box. Those special customers that have been with us from the start know that we have toyed around with this area a few times but we have settled on our favourite. It may seem simple, but our square presentation boxes do the trick! They foremost protect the candle and in particular the wick, but they are also simple and stylish in design, keeping the colour that we love so much about our candles. Those of you with a keen eye will notice that all our box labels are designed to match the colour of the candle. We've also added a little story about us and how we got started on the back, some light reading while you enjoy the crackling sound. The best bit though - because they are square - they are super easy to wrap!
